Institutional questions
- Who is the institutional plan for?
- Universities, schools, research labs, libraries, hospitals, municipalities, clubs, and companies that manage shared resources: meeting rooms, vehicle pools, lab instruments, studios, sports facilities, lending equipment, consultation hours. If bookings currently live in a spreadsheet, an inbox, or a hallway whiteboard, this plan is for you.
- How do we pay, and do we get an invoice?
- Payment is by card through LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record, and every payment comes with a tax-compliant invoice and receipt for your records. Most departments handle this with a purchasing card, and the annual total typically falls within card purchase limits. If card payment is genuinely impossible for your organization, email us and we will look at options.
- How do feature requests work?
- Institutional subscribers get a direct line into the roadmap. Email us what you need (an extra approval step, additional form field types, department-specific booking rules, email template adjustments), we scope it together, and it goes to the top of the queue. The base plan covers everything listed on this page; if you want committed delivery of custom work, we quote a flat monthly figure up front so there are no surprises. Everything ships as a configuration option in a regular plugin update, so you stay on the standard, supported version. Larger projects (new modules or integrations) are quoted separately.
- Do we get a custom fork of the plugin?
- No, and that is deliberate. Customizations ship as settings in the standard plugin, unlocked for institutional licenses. You get the same tested, auto-updating codebase as everyone else, with your requested options switched on.
- We need more than one site. How does that work?
- The plan includes one WordPress site. Additional sites (a second campus, a department running its own install, a separate faculty site) are added at a reduced per-site rate. Tell us how many you need and we will set up a checkout for the total.
- We already have a license. Can we switch plans without losing what we paid?
- Yes, at any time, and what you already paid counts. When you move to a higher plan, we subtract your most recent payment from the first invoice of the new plan. For example: Annual ($249/year) to Lifetime means you pay $699 minus $249. Annual to Institutional means your first annual invoice is $708 minus $249. Lifetime to Institutional gets the full $699 credited against the first invoice. The credit covers your most recent license payment, applies once, and is not paid out as cash. Downgrades simply take effect at your next renewal.
- How does this compare to free and open-source booking tools?
- Tools like MRBS, Booked Scheduler, and Easy!Appointments are capable, but they are standalone applications: your IT hosts, patches, styles, and maintains a separate system with its own logins. booknslot embeds in the WordPress site you already run, lets people verify with their organization email instead of provisioned accounts, and comes with a vendor accountable for fixes, updates, and support.
- Our IT team has security and data questions. Who answers them?
- We do, in writing. The plugin is self-hosted, so booking data never leaves your servers, and we document exactly what the daily license check transmits (license key, site domain, plugin version, never booking data). - Do you do onboarding calls?

- What happens if we do not renew?
- The plugin keeps working on every activated site. New bookings keep flowing and existing data stays editable. You lose updates, support, and the customization-request benefit until you renew.
- Can we trial it first?
